Disabled applicants

We want to employ people from every part of society, because we know this will make us a stronger organisation. This includes people with a disability and people with a learning disability. We put people with a learning disability at the centre of everything we do. This means we need more people with a learning disability working for us.

We have been awarded the Disability Symbol by Jobcentre Plus. This is given to organisations that can show they are committed to employing disabled people. We are committed to interviewing any disabled person whose skills match what is needed for the job.

We want to make applying for a job at Mencap as accessible as we can. When you fill in the application form we ask you if you have a disability. This is because we want to make sure that the application process is fair to disabled people. We understand that there can be barriers for disabled people when applying for jobs. We are happy to change any part of the job application process which might disadvantage a disabled person.
